My name is Inês, and I am the person whose hands and imagination bring Creatureshire alive. I am endlessly surprised by how life thrives, even in the most unexpected places.  

I have always been passionate about nature. I grew up in the incredible countryside of Sintra in Portugal, where I spent a lot of time observing nature in close detail, from the beach tide pool creatures, to the Mediterranean scrublands next to my home. As a teenager, encouraged by my mother, I started making small animals from polymer clay. I was creating the animals with my hands and imagination. Creatureshire was born in 2014, as a place to explore nature with fun and imagination!

Currently I focus on the connections between different species and their habitats. I use this material to build collections that express how special each animal or plant is and how they relate to one another.

Creatureshire’s designs are handmade by me in small limited series. Each piece of jewellery is special: every creature has its own character and there is a sense of joy and wonder from their early beginnings as sketches to the final piece of jewellery.
