Berry Birds :: Pássaros e Bagas

When I first started the Berry Birds series I was experimenting with patterns and textures with no specific end in mind. And suddenly I had this bird in my hands with a “faux” wood pattern covered with branches, leaves and berries. I was delighted because it reminded me of the birds I come across on my daily walks, singing amidst red berries bushes.

And yet, there was something else about that bird… it took me a while but then I figured it out. I remembered the Strawberry Thief fabric from the english designer William Morris and while I was looking at it and at my little bird, I decided to start a new series named the Berry Birds. They will be available as brooches, pendants and earrings. Enjoy them!
